Software for running a theatre society

The society behind the shows: its members, its committee, its volunteers and the people on its mailing list, kept in one place.

Start free

Members and memberships

Set your membership tiers, with a price, a period and what each covers, including family tiers for a household. Members pay by card on your public page, into your own Stripe account, and renew by themselves or from a reminder link.

  • Concession tiers, and life membership as a free tier
  • Ticket prices kept for members until a date you choose
  • Record a membership by hand if you do not use Stripe
My memberships, showing a renewal date, the automatic renewal switch, the saved card and the payments.

The committee

Add each role the society has, such as Chair or Treasurer, and who holds it, with the dates of each term. Hand over an office and its to-dos and access go to the new person. See who held each office in each year, and import past committees.

The Roles tab, with each role, what it does and who holds it.

The AGM and the constitution

Write the agenda and minutes of each AGM or general meeting, and add papers such as reports and accounts. Keep the constitution as a PDF with its earlier versions, and if your theatre has AI on, ask it a question and it names the clause.

  • Filing dates as to-dos, with reminders
A general meeting, with its agenda above the minutes.

Volunteers and rotas

Share a sign-up link and people offer the roles they can do, such as front of house or bar. Each show’s rota says what every night needs, Theatra makes the places for every performance, and volunteers take shifts themselves.

  • Ask for help by email, sent only to people who offered those roles
  • Shifts in the volunteer’s own calendar, with reminders
A show’s Front of house section: roles with filled and open places, and the button to ask volunteers for help.

Email marketing

Send newsletters and campaigns in your colours to the channels people sign up for. Flows send themselves when someone joins, books or has not booked for a while, and segments pick people out by what they have booked.

  • A sign-up form for your own website
  • Opens, clicks and the bookings that came from them
Email marketing: each campaign as a card with a small picture of the email, and sent, delivered, opened and open rate under a sent one.

What it costs

  • No charge per member: add as many people as you like, on any plan.
  • Memberships and sending newsletters come with the plan. Membership fees go to your own Stripe account, and Theatra takes nothing from them.
  • On the Community price list, selling a paid ticket here gives you the plan for twelve months.
  • A monthly allowance of campaign and flow emails, then a small charge per thousand.
