Ticketing is never subscribed to
Sell tickets on any plan, including free. We take £0.50 on each paid ticket sold online through Theatra, capped at 4%of the ticket price — so a cheap seat carries a cheap fee. Card processing is Stripe’s, at cost, through the theatre’s own Stripe account.
We only earn when you do, which is the whole idea: the subscription is small enough that nobody has to decide about it.

We refund our fee when you cancel or move a performance. We keep it when a buyer changes their mind.
Questions a treasurer asks
- What counts as our free show?
- A production is counted the day it gets its first performance date. Planning, casting, budgeting and rehearsing are free and unlimited, forever. The first counted production in any rolling twelve months is free.
- Do you charge per member?
- No. People are never metered — not members, not users, not cast. Capping them would cap the value of the directory and the lending network for everyone else.
- What happens if we stop paying?
- You keep access to the end of the period, then drop back to Free with everything you have. Your people, your history and your one show a year stay. Data is always visible and always exportable.
- Is there a trial, or a card up front?
- No card, and no trial clock. The free show is the trial, and it has every feature in it.
